Tsuki’s Odyssey Fishing Guide: Where to Fish and Earn More Carrots
Fishing is one of the relaxing activities you can enjoy in Tsuki’s Odyssey. It’s also a way to earn extra carrots for furniture, decorations, and other purchases around Mushroom Village.
If you’re new to fishing, or haven’t tried it in a while, here’s how to get started, where to cast your line, and what to do with your catches.
How to Unlock Fishing in Tsuki’s Odyssey
To begin fishing, buy the basic Fishing Stick upstairs at Yori’s General Store.
Once you have it, visit a fishing location and tap the blue fishing icon to cast your line.
Wait until a fish bites. You’ll hear a splash and see the line react. Tap the screen to reel in your catch.
The fish is then added to your inventory.
There’s no complicated fishing minigame to master. The main thing is paying attention when something bites.
Where Can You Fish?
There are three fishing locations in Mushroom Village, and each has its own selection of fish.
Mermaid Coast Pier
The pier is a lovely place to spend a few minutes fishing by the sea.
You can catch fish such as anchovies, mackerel, and seahorses here, along with less common species.

Dawn’s Workshop
Near Dawn’s Workshop, Tsuki can fish in the river.
This location has a different collection of freshwater fish, including species such as perch and pike.

Rosemary’s Plant Shop
Rosemary’s area has a peaceful lake where you can catch fish such as koi and goldfish.
It’s worth visiting all three locations rather than fishing in just one place, particularly if you’re trying to complete your fish collection.

Does the Time of Day Matter?
Yes! Some fish can be caught throughout the day, while others are available only during certain hours.
For example, the official game wiki lists anchovies at the pier as available all day, while barracudas appear during a more limited daytime window.
If you’re trying to catch a particular species, checking its location and availability can save you some frustration.
You can also look at the fish you’ve already discovered in the Compendium app on Tsuki’s phone.
For a complete list of species and their reported availability, the official Tsuki’s Odyssey Wiki has a detailed fishing reference.
What Happens if You Fish Too Long?
You may notice that fish start biting less frequently after you’ve been fishing in one location for a while.
This is the game’s overfishing mechanic.
Instead of waiting longer and longer for another catch, try moving to a different fishing spot. You can also return later, after the area has had time to recover.
How to Earn More Carrots From Fishing
You can sell fish at Yori’s General Store, but there’s another option that can be much more rewarding.
The bulletin board outside Town Hall offers daily fishing bounties.
Each day, three fish are selected. If you have one of the requested species, you can turn it in for five times its regular selling price.
For example, a fish normally worth 20 carrots would earn 100 carrots as a bounty.
The bounty selection refreshes at 8 AM local time.
This makes it worth checking the board before selling everything in your inventory.

Should You Keep or Sell Your Fish?
If you want carrots immediately, selling your catches is an easy option.
However, keeping a few of each species gives you a better chance of already having the fish requested in a future bounty.
You might also want to keep unusual catches for your collection.
A simple approach is to save a couple of each species and sell the extras when you need carrots.
Is the Better Fishing Rod Worth Buying?
You begin with a basic fishing stick, but a better fishing rod becomes available at Yori’s General Store.
According to the official wiki, the upgraded rod costs 7,500 carrots and reduces the wait between catches.
If you fish regularly, the upgrade may be worthwhile. If you only fish occasionally, there’s no need to rush.
A Relaxing Way to Spend Time in Mushroom Village
One of the things I enjoy about Tsuki’s Odyssey is that there’s no pressure to accomplish everything in a single session.
Fishing fits that style of play. You can stop at the pier, catch a few fish, check the bounty board, and then go back to decorating or exploring.
And if you’re just beginning your adventure, our Tsuki’s Odyssey beginner’s guide is a good place to start.
